Description

Appliqued felt depicting a basket overflowing with carnations, roses, pansies, and other stylized flowers and foliage, all worked in ombre and gradated shades of red, pink, salmon, blue, green, and yellow wool, with yellow, pale straw, pale green, pale blue, with delicate silk embroidery on the foliage and at the centers of some flowers along with French knots. One of a pair.

Provenance: Kitley House, South Devon, home of the Polloxfen and Bastard families.
