George Washington and Andrew Jackson Printed Cottons
American (American Print Works, Fall River, Massachusetts), 1876

Roller–printed cotton by American Print Works in black and red ink on an ice blue ground, with medallions containing a portrait of George Washington interspersed with shields containing scales of justice and the word "PEACE."

Together with a roller-printed cotton document of the same date by American Print Works in black, green, red, and blue ink on a yellow and white ground, with medallions containing portrait of Andrew Jackson surmounted by eagles with flowers, acanthus, and myrtle branches.

Both probably produced for the Centennial.

Lengths of each are in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
