Swedish-born weaver Märta Måås-Fjetterström (1873-1941) started her own textile workshop at Båstad in 1919. Working within the ancient tradition of tapestry weaving, Måås-Fjetterström created small-scale and large-scale panels, curtains, carpets, and wall hangings. Her earliest works were influenced by the Art Nouveau style; through her studies of local folk art traditions and of oriental carpet design, she developed her own distinct weaving style.

Märta Måås-Fjetterström is represented in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Louvre in Paris, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the National Museum in Stockholm.
