Summer Sari
Description

Sari brocaded with rows of geometric vegetal shapes and sprigs in red, green, and golden yellow on sheer ivory ground; side borders with dense pattern of geometric foliate motifs; and wide borders at each end with large geometric foliate motifs between bands of fine green stripes.

Provenance: having belonged to Maharaja Bir Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana of the Kathmandu Valley dynastic ruling family, Prime Minister of Nepal, 1885-1901.
