Silk- and metallic-embroidered and false-quilted cotton border from a floor spread; comprising two bands, the upper band with large standing floral sprays interspersed with single stylized leaves in silk & metal thread, the lower with sprigs interspersed with single leaves in metal thread; at top and between two bands, narrower bands with Mughal scrolling meander floral and foliate trails; the silk thread worked primarily in satin and split stitches in shades of red, pink, yellow, green, and ivory, the metal thread, couched; very finely false-quilted ground in concentric diamond pattern. Very good condition: very minor discoloration and tarnishing.
