Extremely rare sample for a furnishing fabric made at the Bauhaus Dessau Weaving Workshop, probably by Margaretha (Grete) Reichardt (1907–1984). A design of narrow horizontal bands in black, cream, and red cotton, wool, and silk.
An identical textile was published in Bauhaus 1919-1933 (Benteli, 1988), fig. 295; and an identical fragment (measuring 30 x 25 cm) said to be by Reichardt was sold at Quittenbaum Kunstauktion, December 11, 2012, lot 64.
