Pair of women's leather and cotton shoes. With a pointed profile with forest green leather cap and twilled cocoa brown cotton vamp and upper; the topline bound with leather; the heel a low wedge covere in leather. The leather toe embroidered with contrasting yellow silk in chainstitch; tying at front with forest green silk ribbon. Lined in linen. Leather soles.
Two related pairs of shoes of leather and cotton with chainstitch details are in the Met (2009.300.1473a, b; 2009.300.1466a, b).
Very good condition overall. Professionally conserved in 2025 to stabilize two small holes in the cotton. Minor wear at pointed toe and at heels; discoloration to silk ribbon. One shoe with an area of discoloration to the cotton vamp.
