Embroidery from an altar frontal, worked in silk and couched silver-strip-wrapped silk on a green silk faille ground. With a "bizarre"-style pattern of repeating scrolling vines from which blossom pomegranates, carnations, exotic flowers, shells, and foliage. Finished along bottom with gold metallic fringe. Lined in green silk.
Very good condition. A few small areas of losses to embroidery, particularly to black silks. Three small areas of water damage visible to silk faille ground and to silk lining.
