Yardage of copper roller-printed cotton toile de Jouy, the pattern called "Pallas et Venus" designed ca. 1808 by Jean-Baptiste Huet (1745–1811) and printed in the same period at the Manufacture Oberkampf, Jouy-en-Josas.
Lengths of this fabric include those at the Art Institute of Chicago (the chef de pièce sold by Cora Ginsburg, Inc.); Bibliotheque Forney (TI 181171 PF, fragment); Musée de la Toile de Jouy; Philadelphia Museum of Art (1937-11-129); RISD Museum (2008.9.4, sold by Cora Ginsburg LLC); and V&A Museum (T.195-1977).
Very good condition overall. Originally having formed a bedhanging. Some minor fading in areas.
